Mental Health and Wellbeing

As a Trust we are committed to the Well Being of all of our staff whatever their role.

The Rivermead Inclusive Trust takes pride in placing wellbeing for both pupils and staff at the heart of all decisions it makes. It has been at the forefront of wellbeing in the local area and looks to lead by example when showcasing good practice and ensuring its staff are in the best place possible to undertake their roles to benefit our pupils.

We are driven by the belief that a happy and valued staff will produce the best results for our pupils and also support our schools and Trust to grow and develop. It is also most important that staff at every level are supported to perform to their maximum potential, whether they work directly with pupils i.e. teachers or TAs, or indirectly through roles such as reception staff or site staff.

We are clear in our drive as a Trust that it would be incompatible with Trust values to support the mental health of some of the most vulnerable learners within our schools if we were not also safeguarding the mental health and wellbeing of staff across the Trust.

Our wellbeing and mental health champions, made up of a range of members of each of our schools community are passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of staff within their school and lead on our strategies.

Our commitment to wellbeing has seen us achieve the Platinum award as part of the Kent and Medway Workplace Wellbeing Award Scheme. The assessment panel highlighted the work our wellbeing team have been doing across our schools and some of the really positive feedback included:

  • The Rivermead Inclusive Trust is striving to be at the forefront of new initiatives to support both their staff and the families of the child and young people attending their provisions.
  • Assessors felt that Rivermead Inclusive Trust has demonstrated clear and continuous improvement of their health and wellbeing offer whilst being mentors within their sector.
  • The contribution they are making to improving wellbeing in the education sector are notable.

Our mental health and wellbeing team were also thrilled and privileged to be nominated and win the 2023 Medway Team of the Year for their work within supporting Mental Health and Wellbeing within all of our Trust Schools. They also collected the Overall Kent Team of the Year.
