Amy is an accomplished head teacher at Walderslade Primary School, part of the Rivermead Inclusive Trust. Graduating from university in 2009, she quickly ascended through various leadership roles, demonstrating her commitment to educational excellence. In her pursuit of impactful leadership, Amy transitioned to a deputy head role before moving into the Headteacher role at Walderslade Primary School in 2018.
Whilst Headteacher, Walderslade Primary has undergone two OFSTED inspections, with the most recent report indicating that the school would have achieved an outstanding rating if it had been a fully graded inspection. Amy is dedicated to enhancing the curriculum, ensuring that pupil progress remains at the heart of all initiatives. She leads her team with enthusiasm and their collective efforts have led to outstanding attainment levels at the end of Key Stage 2, reflecting Amy’s commitment to high educational standards.
Beyond her responsibilities at Walderslade Primary, Amy actively supports leadership and learning across other schools within the trust and throughout Kent and Medway. She is a Specialist Leader of Education in curriculum, behaviour, and maths, where she has successfully developed provisions to improve school outcomes in these critical areas. Amy is also an active member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team, firmly believing that inclusiveness should be a fundamental aspect of the Trust’s core values. She consistently works to create an environment where every pupil feels valued and supported, fostering a culture of belonging that enhances learning for all.
Amy holds the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) and is passionate about fostering leadership within the Medway area. She chairs the Headteacher Zone meetings and serves as the vice chair of the Medway Education Leaders Association (MELA), further contributing to the educational landscape in her community. Through her collaborative approach and unwavering dedication, Amy continues to inspire both pupils and educators alike.
