With over two decades of experience in the field of education, Emma Poad has had a successful career working in schools in Medway and Kent. Her journey began as a dedicated teacher, after studying at the University of Greenwich: Avery Hill, but it was her passion for school improvement and evidence based-system-led approaches that propelled her into leadership roles.
Emma’s commitment to fostering rapid progress among children is evident in her tenure as a SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator), Headteacher, and currently as an Executive Headteacher within the Rivermead Inclusive Trust. Her innovative strategies have transformed schools into thriving centres of learning. Emma believes that every child deserves an equal opportunity to succeed, and she tirelessly advocates for inclusive practices.
Beyond her administrative responsibilities, Emma is known for her relationship-driven approach. Colleagues describe her as a mentor and coach, always willing to lend a listening ear or offer guidance. Her collaborative spirit has created a supportive network within the Trust, where ideas flow freely, and best practices are shared.
Emma is also a Governor within Kent and Medway and enjoys supporting other educational settings with strategic thinking and planning. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and visiting new places.
