Our media learners had a 'magical time' visiting the Harry Potter studios and learning about film production and what it takes to make a global cinematic success. Taking learning outside of the classroom is vital part for Further Education.
We currently have 15 of our Post 16 learners completing work experience placements. The placements range from care homes, joinery shops, nurseries and TV studios. One of our learners has the fantastic job of managing the auto-cue and working the cameras for live news broadcasts which we think is amazing!
The partnership has been visited by Cole, a lady from the breast cancer charity, CoppaFeel. Cole kindly came in and shared her very own personal journey with some of our learners and staff to spread the word around breast cancer awareness and how we can help keep ourselves healthy.
Recently staff had a training session from Kelly Rivitt, the gangs officer from Kent Police. She explained the issues in Medway concerning gangs and knife crimes. Staff were so engaged they stayed for an extra half hour!
